Interesting; thanks - I have no knowledge of this kind of thing but currently I am expanding my classical music listening by being lent CDs to play by my Philosophy teacher. This is working fairly well but my backlog of various things to listen to is just growing and growing - just like my inbox, my RSS reader etc. etc. etc.

Hmm, the only experience I've had with DnB is Pendulum, who from what I gather are not fantastic, but I like them.
As for classical music, it depends what you're looking for... there are big differences between the main 4 periods:
Baroque: Vivaldi or Bach-style stuff... think harpsichord.
Classical: Mozart stuff (very distinctive Mozarty sound) and Handel. Very symmetrical and puritan.
Romantic: Tchaikovsy, Saint-Saëns, Sibelius, late Beethoven, Debussy et al. Lots of variety as composers broke down barriers of earlier periods and started to experiment.
Modern: Stravinsky et al. Lots of atonal stuff here, but lots of tonal stuff too. I quite like Philip Glass but he's more post-modern I think.
